How Pecan Power Began
It all started with a passion for entrepreneurship and a family farm in Jan Kempdorp, Northern Cape, home to some of the finest pecan orchards in South Africa.
Growing up surrounded by delicious pecans sparked a question: how could these incredible nuts be transformed into something even more enjoyable for everyone? Several ideas were explored, each one bringing the vision closer to life.
The answer came from the kitchen. After experimenting with different approaches, the pecan butter solution was born. A rich, creamy spread that captures everything wonderful about the pecan nut in every jar.

The Vaalharts Irrigation Scheme was established in the 1930s during South Africa's Great Depression as a government initiative to open up agricultural land and create livelihoods for farming families. Named after the confluence of the Vaal and Harts rivers in the Northern Cape, it grew into one of the largest irrigation schemes in the Southern Hemisphere.
The fertile soil and reliable water supply created ideal conditions for a wide range of crops. Over the decades, pecan orchards flourished across the valley, and today Vaalharts produces more pecans than any other region in South Africa.
Jan Kempdorp, established as the administrative heart of the scheme, sits at the centre of this thriving agricultural community. It is here, surrounded by rows of pecan trees, that the idea for Pecan Power was born.
